DFL 48 Senate District Director and State Central Committee positions have a term of office of 2 years. The Senate District Central Committee meets monthly, on the second Thursday of the month at the Glen Lake Community Center at 7:00 PM. The State Central Committee meets quarterly on Saturdays for most of the day at various locations across Minnesota. Please see detailed position descriptions on page 3 of this document.
Application Process:
- To be considered for any of the available positions, please complete this form by April 9.
- Interviews with the Nominations Committee will be scheduled for Saturday morning, April 16, and if necessary, Sunday, April 17 afternoon and Monday, April 18 evening at the Minnetonka Community Center (14600 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55345). Please go to this link to schedule a time and date that works best for you.
- You must then attend the Senate District 48 DFL Convention on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM and stand for election.

Descriptions of Available Positions
Senate District Director – (13 positions available) including two Youth Directors (ages 16-21)
Term of Office: Two Years
Meetings: Monthly
- Attend monthly meetings of the Senate District
- Vote on issues that come before the Executive and Central Committees
- Directors are expected to chair a Working Committee or Ad Hoc Committee or perform functions assigned to them from time to time by the Executive or Central Committees.
- Roles may include, but are not limited to: Fundraising, Events, Communications, Outreach, Voter ID/GOTV,
- Publicity and Issues and Research.
- Directors can also be Precinct officers and/or State Central Committee Representatives
State Central Committee Open Positions:
Term of Office: Two Years
Meetings: Quarterly
State Central Committee Representative – (4 positions available)
- Attend quarterly meetings of the State Central Committee
- Discuss party issues, training and outreach, and party building
- Participate in sub-committee activities
- Vote on issues that come before the Committee
- Use the information from the meetings to initiate and support SD48 actions
- SCC Representatives can also be Directors and/or Precinct officers
State Central Committee Alternate Representative – (6 positions available)
- Attend quarterly meetings of the State Central Committee and vote on issues that come before the Committee in the absence of a regular member
- Discuss party issues, training and outreach, and party building
- Participate in sub-committee activities
- Use the information from the meetings to initiate and support SD48 actions
- SCC Alternative Representatives can also be Directors and/or Precinct officers
