2014 election
The Obama Republicans? Politico

Minnesota’s campaigns for state offices ate at least $8,000 worth of pizza to keep their machines running during the last election. A perusal of the campaign expense reports, which cover the period through mid-October, show that Minnesota pols have varied tastes in their sauce and cheese covered pies. Independence Party candidate for attorney general Brandan Borgos brought his volunteers pies from Pizza Luce, at both the downtown and Uptown locations. Republican gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson purchased hundreds of dollars’ worth of pizza from both the Rochester Green Mill and Domino’s in his hometown of Plymouth. Democrats and Republicans battling for the Minnesota House also split on their pizza purchases. The House Republican Campaign Committee repeatedly bought pies from Rafferty’s Pizza in Baxter, Minn. The DFL House Caucus plunked its pizza cash down at Mama’s Pizza Parlor in St. Paul. – Star Tribune
